A Sneak Peek into My Child's Bedroom

If you've been to our shop recently, you might have noticed the mahjong paper-covered shop next to us. It's currently our messy hideout but when it's revealed in a week or two, you will see how you can transform your children's boring bedroom into a fragrant flowery garden, an adventure-filled jungle, a challenging space-station, or a colourful awesome underwater world with our designer furniture and reusable wall stickers. When my toddler son misbehaves, I threaten him by telling him I will send him home, and he will always protest "ah no no no no, ah no no no". When he finally gets his room, he'll be the one telling me he wants to go home and sleep.

Perry's Vocab increases!

So adorable. Papa, Mama and Perry wanted to go to Parkway to get some stuff. I was on the computer finishing an email so Papa told Perry to say bye bye to me. I didn't want to be left behind, and said Wait, wait!

Little Perry then laughed and said, "Funny Mama, Naughty Mama!" and laughed some more. Amazing!

He's been saying many words we did not teach him consciously these last week. What joy!

Little Perry is happily back in School!

It's a new year! Blessed new year to everyone reading this!

Perry's mama was worried Little Perry would take time to adjust to school again after the Dec break. I was wrong. Today, after he placed his little Crocs on the bench at the door, he ran straight into the class where other little children were sitting, ready to start their singing session. I am so amazed. Just now, we asked Perry to sing us the song he learnt in school today. It sounded like Jesus Loves Me This I Know. He's amazing. If you happen to bump into me, you can hear his song on my HP. :)

Perry's 1st School Concert

On his 4th day in school, Little Perry had to sing and dance to the tune Jingle Bells in his tiny school concert. He couldn't spot where Mama was and so was so sad and angry that he put his bells on the floor and simply stood there. Actually it was a really bad morning for Little Perry. 1st, he saw his favourite cousin, Naomi, first thing when he got into the mall where the school is, but couldn't get to sit or play with her as he had to go up to his school to get ready for the concert. Then his class went up to sing their song with the huge sunflowers but he wasn't allowed to sing as he was too new. He was really affected and had to sit alone for the song. Then his silly Mama disappeared from his sight. Papa waved at him madly but we're not sure if he saw Papa.

Poor Perry. Mistaken for his bad behaviour - refusal to sing or move in the song, which is sad cos he moves in such a cute manner. So sad.

Will add his pictures later. Too sad.

Day 3. Screams, pulls and cries, then bliss.

Poor Little Perry. He screamed and held onto Mama's cardigan tightly at the door of the school.

An hour later, Papa and Mama sneaked around outside the school to see how Little Perry was. He was happily running around the playground in the school and dragged a plastic pony halfway across the playground back to its usual position.

Just 3 days after Perry goes to school, he'll be performing in the school concert. We tried singing Jingle Bells to him just now and there was no sign of any recognition of the song. I wonder what will happen tomorrow. :)

Update: Perry's 2nd Day in School

p1030171w.jpgHe woke up saying "KOO" (Perry's way of saying "school") but wanted to drink milk instead. Today, GongGong and PorPor will join the Perry's entourage to school. Just to see how the school looks like. And of course, how Little Perry copes.

Today's different. Perry knew now that school means that Mama and Papa do not get to hang around with him, so today when the lift door opened, he skipped happily towards the school, but then when he was taking off his shoes, he realised Mama wasn't going in with him and hugged me really tightly.

I'll go up earlier to see how he is. Oh I forgot to say that the school we chose is conveniently located on the 3rd floor of Katong Mall. So while Little Perry attends school, I can stay in the shop, which is in Basement 1 of the same mall. So many happy mothers have come and given good feedback of the school, so we decided to let Perry go to school there.

OK. Let's go up and see how he is!

Little Perry's 1st Day at School!

Little Perry is in school!

p1030142w.jpg p1030151w1.jpg

He woke up really early today and watched Madagascar while I changed his nappy. His yellow school tee now has his name on his sleeve, and his bag announces his name loudly in thick strokes. He seemed to know where he was going, and he wanted to pack his cooking set utensils (more about this later :) into his school bag, but then later packed 2 small cars in instead. He had his favourite Crocs on very quickly and was at the door waiting for Papa to be ready.

We brought Perry up to his school in the late afternoon yesterday to orientate him and he had a really good time in the school playground, so this morning when the lift door opened and he saw the school, he happily ran towards it and had little trouble letting go of us.

The entourage that sent Perry to school included his Ah Mah, who is at this moment upstairs taking a peek at her grandson to make sure he's all right.

More to come tomorrow! Stay tuned…

Perry's a Beach Boy!

Papa carrying Perry With his CAR!!! in his happy meal box (that's how he says "car" these days, with gusto and OOMPH), Little Perry happily headed for the beach. It's his 2nd time at the beach to really play at the water's edge. I was really unsure of how he would take to the waves this time. Remember how he was during his first time at the beach?

Car

In no time he deftly took his Crocs off. He remembers the sand, I think. Or he's just trying to keep his fave shoes clean. :) Then it's off to the waves!

We dug up loads of things from the sand. Papa taught Little Perry how to identify sea shells. Mama was worse. Haha. I simply looked for those that were still alive. It's steamed shells for tea in the afternoon on the menu. (Perry's Gong Gong taught me how to look for live shells and cook them since I was little. It's become an achievement for me since then. Ask me if you wanna learn k? :)

He had a really good time. Little Perry loved it so much that he became too dangerous. We had to pull him back nearer to us on so many occassions.

Long collage

He was so happy with the waves rushing up his feet that it became the ankles, and then the nappy level. Notice how in the first 3 photos his tee is wet? For all these photos, Little Perry simply refused to look up at the camera. He was too taken by the waves.

p1020935collage.jpg

See how the cute fellow was so hilariously delighted? Actually now that it's night already, Perry is still holding onto the spades and digging in his cot bed.

And his cheeks are a little pink. Sun burnt? Whatever it is, we have a date for tomorrow morning - to the Beach again. Perry declared, SAND!!!

p1020940w.jpg

Postscript: The steamed shells tasted really good.

(See our spoils in Perry's yellow bucket?) Note to my sis: Wanna bring Naomi and Perry to go dig up some more shells some day?

A little Note from Mama

First, a little note to all the uncles and aunties following Little Perry's Adventures: Thousands of apologies from the Mama for only writing a little and so infrequently. Have to also add that I may not post events chronologically cos I like to post pics of Little Perry in the blog and pics take time to sort out and then crop and all in Photoshop, so I'll do what I can, but be sure to look out for Little Perry in the Night Safari, Little Perry at the Dinner Table and other Adventures of the Little Perry! heehee…
